Overview

The Mediterranean region stands at a crucial intersection of
tradition and modernity, offering a fertile ground where the
intersection of rich cultural heritage and cutting-edge
technological advancements invites exploration. As a result, a
unique opportunity arises to investigate how Human-Computer
Interaction research can enrich and advocate for these intrinsic
values in the digital age. By leveraging the fusion of modern
technology and timeless Mediterranean culture, HCI research can
play a pivotal role in enhancing various aspects of life in the
Mediterranean region.
This special issue aims to bring together scholars,
researchers, and practitioners to delve into the multifaceted
relationship between digital technologies and Mediterranean
values through the lens of HCI. Relevant questions to be
answered include:
- How can HCI research contribute to the preservation and
promotion of Mediterranean cultural heritage in the digital
era?
- What are the ethical considerations and challenges in
designing digital solutions that respect Mediterranean values
and traditions?
- How can HCI methodologies be adapted to better serve the
diverse populations of the Mediterranean region?
- What innovative HCI applications can support sustainable
tourism and economic development in Mediterranean countries?
- How can digital technologies facilitate intercultural
dialogue and understanding among Mediterranean communities

Submission guidelines and procedure
----------------------------------------------------------
All submissions (abstracts and later final manuscripts) must be
original and may not be under review by another publication.
The manuscripts should be submitted either in .doc or in
.rtf format.
All papers will be blindly peer-reviewed by at least two
reviewers.
Authors are invited to submit 8-30 pages paper (including authors'
information, abstract, all tables, figures, references, etc.).
The paper should be written according to the IxD&A
authors' guidelines
