Overview
-----------------------------------------------------------
The guest editors are proud to invite
and welcome contributions from researchers and practitioners to
discuss the design, development, and evaluation of digitally
mediated products for active ageing, senior's citizen sense of
belonging and perceived wellbeing.The
COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely challenging to address
several research contexts and suddenly the “Online Social
Environments for Active Ageing” were started to be perceived
somewhat as the "new" environment.
Three big factors contribute –
processual, social, individual – to determine the technological
environments evolution and its relationship with the active
aging. For sure the pandemic has generated a higher awareness
about their potential, and it is likely that they will no longer
be the same after the pandemic. Papers that report work that
nurtures a post-pandemic view, namely, case studies, reviews and
methodological proposals; pandemics/social confinement/
COVID-19; the socio-techno-ethical dimensions associated to the
adopted digitally mediated strategies to overpass the boundaries
of social distancing measures; digital policy strategies for
active aging; impact of entrepreneur experiences are especially
welcome.
