The 33th ACM Conference on Hypertext and Social Media (ACM HT)
Barcelona*, Spain, June 28 - July 1, 2022
https://ht.acm.org/ht2022/
co-located with ACM UMAP 2022
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are planning for a hybrid conference and will accommodate online presentations where needed.
ACM HT - Hypertext and Social Media conference - is a premium venue for high-quality peer-reviewed research on hypertext theory, systems and applications. It is concerned with all aspects of modern hypertext research including social media, linked open data and knowledge graphs, information exploration and visualisation, dynamic and computed hypermedia, as well applications for digital arts, culture, and humanities.
ACM HT is sponsored by ACM SIGWEB<https://www.sigweb.org/>. The proceedings are published by the ACM and will be part of the ACM Digital Library<https://dl.acm.org/>.
Tracks:
==================
HT 2022 will explore, study and shape a broad range of dimensions faced by modern hypertext studies, covering the following tracks chaired by leading researchers:
* Social web content, language and network (chair: Marcelo Armentano)
* Digital humanities, culture and society (chair: Jessica Rubart)
* Information exploration and visualisation (chair: Claus Atzenbeck)
* Personalized recommender systems (chairs: Markus Zanker, Eva Zangerle, Osnat Mokryn)
Submissions:
==================
HT 2022 will include high-quality peer-reviewed papers related to the above key areas. Maintaining the high quality and impact of the HT series, each paper will have three reviews by program committee members and a meta-review presenting the reviewers' consensual view; the review process will be coordinated by the program chairs in collaboration with the corresponding area chairs.
* Peer reviewed, original, and principled research papers addressing both the theory and practice of HT and papers showcasing innovative use of HT and exploring the benefits and challenges of applying HT technology in real-life applications and contexts are welcome. Papers should present original reports of substantive new research techniques, findings, and applications of HT. They should place the work within the field and clearly indicate innovative aspects. Research procedures and technical methods should be presented in sufficient detail to ensure scrutiny and reproducibility. Results should be clearly communicated and implications of the contributions/findings for HT and beyond should be explicitly discussed.
* Length: Papers should be at most 14 pages and will be reviewed according to the presented contributions. In other words, we don’t have a distinct category for short papers, which means that papers, no matter what page length, will be reviewed according to the same criteria.
Publication:
==================
Accepted papers will be published by ACM and will be available via the ACM Digital Library. Extended versions of selected papers presented at the conference could be selected to appear in different special issues in international journals according to the specific tracks (see the web site for details). At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference and present the paper there. Submission details will appear soon.

*
*SLERD 2022* is organized by /University Politehnica of Bucharest /in
collaboration with /ASLERD/ <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASLERD>/./
*
Please Note: The intention of the organizing committee is to hold SLERD
2022 as a hybrid conference with the possibility to alternatively attend
it physically or virtually.
If the pandemic is not attenuated, SLERD will take place in a fully
blown virtual conference format such as the previous two editions of SLERD.
*
/*Short Intro*/
After the shock of the pandemic, learning ecosystems – and in particular
schools, universities, and territorial learning communities – all over
the world – are facing a new phase characterized by the search for and
the experimentation of ways to their “*new normality*“. This is within a
world that seeks to protect at best and incentivize the economic
recovery that although relevant is still subjected to enormous risks.
Among the main areas on which most of the industrialized countries and
Europe are focusing on, there are: the transitions towards a green and
circular economy, smart digitization of the production processes, social
innovation, active citizen participation supported by technologies, and,
finally, the education for all. In such a context,*collaboration*is
emerging as an approach and an attitude of considerable relevance that
stays also at the basis of the polyphonic construction of the future of
learning ecosystems.
Alongside/collaboration/, on the technological side, it continues to
rise the relevance of intelligent systems, generically collected under
the label of*Artificial Intelligence*(AI); concurrently, on the
pedagogical side,*competences*have become the goal of future education,
also in the attempt to close the skill gap, which represents one of the
greatest dangers for the transition towards smarter productive systems
and societies.
Competences and AI, by the way, are also topics that intersect and
influence each other and rise questions of*ethical nature*. Last but not
least, they are likely to require an organizational and didactic
revolution of the learning ecosystems, thus requiring to question the
possible consequences in order to build a more adequate future. In turn,
this step requires inspiration from best practices to leverage the
advantage of the growth of individuals and the expectations of the
communities.
What should we expect for future learning ecosystems? How “smart
learning ecosystems” are changing? How such changes may be related to
the achievement of “a better learning for a better world
<http://www.mifav.uniroma2.it/inevent/events/aslerd/docs/TIMISOARA_DECLARATI…>”
as a contribution to theUnited Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs)
How will they contribute to the reduction of inequalities and, at the
same time, to the empowering of each individual according to his
expectations and talents?
/Smart /referred to /learning ecosystems,/ in ASLERD and SLERD contexts,
does not simply means “technology enhanced”. The smartness is a more
complex multilayered construct related to the wellbeing of the players
operating in the ecosystems and is affected by the improvement of any
relevant aspects of the learning processes and ecosystem functioning,
especially if connected with territorial development and social innovation.
Technologies are mediators. Hopefully they should be included but they
are not a “sine qua non”.
The achievement of the learning ecosystems’ smartness is a process that
need a long term vision, multidisciplinary competences, an attitude to
understand people and contexts and to mediate point of views, a dynamic
resilience to keep on track to achieve, step by step, the foreseen goals.
/*
*//*Topics of interests*/
*SLERD 2022* is proud to invite colleagues - researchers and
practitioners - from all over the world to share the efforts concerning

Special Issue Information
Dear Colleagues,
Brain–computer interfaces (BCIs) allow direct communication between the brain and an external device. They have already found many applications, for example in neuro-rehabilitation, the restoration of capabilities lost by the user (e.g., motion or communication), gaming and entertainment. This Special Issue is interested in hardware and processing solutions, supporting the development of low-cost systems.
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
• The development of new prototypes and/or paradigms for interfacing to the user’s brain.
• Development of stable sensors for long-term applications.
• Innovative algorithms for the processing of EEG in BCI applications (artifact removal, identification of cortical responses, etc.).
• Real-time processing and simple user interface for effective interaction.

9th European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing
(ESOCC 2022)
March 22-24, 2022, Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany
https://www.esocc-conf.eu
Scope
Service-oriented and cloud computing have made a huge impact both on the software
industry and on the research community. Today, service and cloud technologies are
applied to build large-scale software landscapes as well as to provide single software
services to end users. Services today are independently developed and deployed as
well as freely composed while they can be implemented in a variety of technologies, a
quite important fact from a business perspective. Similarly, cloud computing aims at
enabling flexibility by offering a centralised sharing of resources. The industry's need
for agile and flexible software and IT systems has made cloud computing the
dominating paradigm for provisioning computational resources in a scalable, on-
demand fashion. Nevertheless, service developers, providers, and integrators still
need to create methods, tools and techniques to support cost-effective and secure
development as well as use of dependable devices, platforms, services and service-
oriented applications in the cloud.
The European Conference on Service-Oriented and Cloud Computing (ESOCC) is the
premier conference on advances in the state of the art and practice of service-
oriented computing and cloud computing in Europe. The main objectives of this
conference are to facilitate the exchange between researchers and practitioners in the
areas of service-oriented computing and cloud computing, as well as to explore the
new trends in those areas and foster future collaborations in Europe and beyond.

*Overview*
-----------------------------------------------------------
The guest editors are proud to invite and welcome contributions from
researchers and practitioners from all over the world involved in the
development of Smart Learning Ecosystems and Smart Education, as engines
of social innovation and territorial development. At the core, the
adjective smart comprises terms like intelligent, purpose oriented,
supportive, artful, clever and the like. Thus, smart does not
necessarily include the usage of technology (neither does it exclude
technology!).
The COVID-19 pandemic has been extremely challenging to address several
research contexts, suddenly the two dimensions that characterises the
smart learning ecosystems – physical and virtual – started to be
perceived somewhat as antithetical and it came out that the e-maturity
of a learning ecosystem is not sufficient to explain and predict its
transformation. Many factors concur – processual, social, individual –
to determine the technological evolution of learning ecosystems and
their smartness. For sure the pandemic has generated a higher awareness
about the intrinsic nature of the smart learning ecosystems and it is
likely that they will no longer be the same after the pandemic. Papers
that report on work that nurtures a post-pandemic view and strategy for
a better learning world are specially welcome.
This special issue is supported by the Association for Smart Learning
Ecosystems and Regional Development (ASLERD) and welcome the submission
of substantially extended version of the papers presented at SLERD 2021.
-----------------------------------------------------------
*Topics of Interest*
-----------------------------------------------------------
Topics of interests can be grouped under three big themes: places for
smart education, people in place centered design for smart education,
supportive learning technologies and tools for smart education. All of
which, can also include studies that nurtures a post-pandemic view and
strategy for a better learning world.
*Places for smart education*
future of institutional learning
interplay between formal and informal learning
new educational models and settings
continuity-discontinuity of time, technology, place/space, process in
learning
role of and case studies of games and gamification in smart education
dual education and other alternate scheme approaches
monitoring and benchmarking of smartness (individual, institution, city,
region)
*People in place centered design for smart education*
general frameworks and methodological advancement
design, data and other relevant literacies
literacies, skill and competences of smart citizens
communities and co-design in smart learning
sharing & participatory practices
open access to any resource and disparity
cultural influences
*Supportive technologies and tools for smart education*
intelligent tutoring systems and interfaces
semantic web technologies and applications
text/opinion mining and sentiment analysis
real/virtual communities and social network analysis
interoperability and application of open/smart data and services

systems that adapt to individual users or to groups of users, and which
collect, represent, and model user information.
We encourage both researchers and industry practitioners to submit workshop
and tutorial proposals. We strongly suggest involving organizers from
different institutions, bringing different perspectives to the workshop or
tutorial topic. We welcome workshops and tutorials with a creative
structure that may attract various types of attendees and ensure rich
interactions. All the tutorials and workshops should support both virtual
and physical attendance (although we hope physical to be the preferred
option).
--------------------------------------------------------
**Call for Workshop Proposals**

**BACKGROUND AND SCOPE**
============================================
**ACM UMAP** – ***User Modeling, Adaptation and Personalization*** – is the
premier international conference for researchers and practitioners working
on systems that adapt to individual users or to groups of users, and that
collect, represent, and model user information. **ACM UMAP** is sponsored
by ACM SIGCHI (https://sigchi.org) and SIGWEB (https://www.sigweb.org), and
organized with User Modeling Inc. (https://um.org) as the core Steering
Committee, extended with past years’ chairs. The proceedings are published
by the **ACM** and will be part of the ACM Digital Library (
https://dl.acm.org).
**ACM UMAP** covers a wide variety of research areas where personalization
and adaptation may be applied. The main theme of **UMAP 2022** is ***“User

Dear colleagues,
The next ECSCW conference will take place at Coimbra, Portugal from June 27th to July 1st 2022.
With our best wishes for peaceful and joyous holidays and a happy and healthy new year we would like to invite you for thinking about submitting exciting workshop and masterclass proposals.
Buon Natale e felice anno nuovo!
Kind regards,
The workshop and masterclass co-chairs Claudia Mueller and Bryan Semaan
The ECSCW 2022 conference is looking for workshop and masterclass submissions!
Call for Workshop Proposals
CSCW is a challenging and rapidly developing area of research where the exchange of ideas and discussion of concepts with other researchers provide an effective way of gaining new insights and identifying opportunities for possible collaborations.
The ECSCW 2022 Workshops provide an opportunity to engage in discussions with other researchers, present and illustrate new developments on different themes within CSCW, provoke and reflect on novel perspectives and receive feedback on early ideas in a friendly and constructive manner.
ECSCW 2022 invites workshop proposals addressing basic research questions, new methodologies and approaches, innovative technologies, and emerging research areas. Workshops are good venues for involving attendees in working together to share, reflect and develop new insights. Workshops may be half-day or full-day sessions. Outcomes might include journal special issues, blogs or new collaborations.
We encourage accepted workshop organisers to create web-based resources for their workshops so that advertising, submission and organisation can be handled online.
If you are submitting a workshop on accessibility or assistive technology, please refer to the SIGACCESS guidelines on writing about disability<https://www.sigaccess.org/welcome-to-sigaccess/resources/accessible-writing…>.

Call for Masterclass Proposals
Masterclasses provide the opportunity to learn about specific CSCW methods, concepts and approaches from experts in the related field within small in-depth group discussions. Masterclasses facilitate a more focused discussion on any CSCW topic, and enable organizers to do theoretical input in lectures as well as engage participants in more hands-on workshop experiences. While masterclasses are open to a broad range of participants, these are particularly targeted at early career researchers and PhD students. Masterclasses may be half-day or full-day sessions.
If you are submitting a masterclass on accessibility or assistive technology, please refer to the SIGACCESS guidelines on writing about disability<https://www.sigaccess.org/welcome-to-sigaccess/resources/accessible-writing…>.
