Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly vital role in shaping these experiences, enabling adaptive gameplay, dynamic content generation, and the creation of intelligent non-player characters. AI not only enhances player immersion but also expands the possibilities for storytelling, accessibility, and personalized experiences. The AI4HGI workshop aims to explore the evolving role of AI in human-game interaction by addressing key research questions, including: * How AI can enhance player immersion and engagement in digital games? * How can AI contribute to adaptive storytelling and personalized player experiences? * How can AI systems balance computational efficiency with the complexity of game interactions? * How can generative AI impact game design and creativity? * How should ethical considerations such as transparency, fairness, and data privacy be addressed in AI-driven game development? In answering these questions, the AI4HGI workshop aims to provide a platform for researchers to discuss innovative solutions, share insights, and identify new research directions. Website: https://sites.google.com/view/cs-dis-25/home Contact: catia.prandi(a)unibo.it ************************************************ ***Scope*** Citizen Science (CS) is a research approach in which scientists and everyday people collaborate to address a research problem. Advancements in digital technologies have significantly expanded the reach of CS by enabling large-scale data collection and collaboration. In addition to its scientific benefits, CS enhances participants' science literacy, fosters public engagement, and promotes collaborative problem-solving. Despite this being true, we believe that the true potential of CS has not yet been fully explored as a collaborative practice for transformative change. With this in mind, we planned a one-day workshop as a forum for critical discussions and reflections on the role of HCI researchers, designers, and practitioners in designing CS-empowered interactive systems for increasing awareness about social good and societal issues and promoting concrete actions and behavioural change, from data to sustainable futures. ***Submissions*** Participants interested in joining the workshop can submit either a late-breaking work abstract/short paper (2 to 4 pages, plus references, using the ACM single-column template) or a motivation statement (1–2 pages, including references, using the ACM single-column template). Call for Participation: Workshop on Age-Inclusive Interfaces

Apologies for the cross-posting Workshop on Age-Inclusive Interfaces: Emerging Mobile, Conversational, and Generative AI to Support Interactions across the Life Span ( https://speech-interaction.org/CUI2025-OA/) - Colocating with ACM Conversational User Interface (CUI) 2025 conference ------------------------------------------------------- This multidisciplinary workshop aims to tackle the significant gaps in theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and exploration of new paradigms within the research and design of age-inclusive Mobile, Hands-Free, Conversational User Interfaces, especially those leveraging recent advances in Generative AI and Large Language Models. We also aim to build research capacity by bringing together researchers and practitioners across several disciplines and industries who are actively working or having interest toward understanding the need and role of such interfaces in supporting interactions across the life (e.g. older adults, inter-generational interactions.) We invite researchers from various fields to present their work on and collectively engage in synthesizing and collating findings from different disciplines, and to discuss barriers and approaches to designing age-inclusive CUIs that are usable, adoptable, and culturally relevant. Given the nascent phase of this community, and our goal of encouraging a grassroots approach to defining this space, we welcome position papers, short research papers, or short expressions of interest relevant to the broad space of our workshop. There is no format for the expression of interest - those wishing to participate in the workshop without a submitted paper should simply contact the organizers via email indicating through a short paragraph their prior experience and/or interest as relevant to the workshop, alongside their professional website or scholar page. We welcome position papers, short research papers, and expressions of interest along the focus areas described earlier, as well as open topics suggested by potential attendees (given the nascent phase of this community, and our goal of encouraging a grassroots approach to defining this space). For those interested in submitting a formal paper, we welcome short papers describing e.g. a research study, a novel system, a new theoretical contribution, or position papers that highlight new or ongoing challenges in the field. Submitted papers will be lightly reviewed by the organizing committee within a week of the submission (there is no formal deadline). Accepted papers will be posted on the workshop website. We recommend papers to be no more than 4 pages long, following the CHI Extended Abstract format). There's a growing interest in quantitatively analysing clinical images through techniques like Positron Emission Tomography, Computerised Tomography, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, particularly in the realms of texture analysis and radiomics. Through machine and deep learning advancements, researchers can glean insights to enhance the discovery of therapeutic tools, bolster diagnostic decisions, and aid in the rehabilitation process. However, the huge volume of available data may intensify the diagnostic effort, exacerbated by high inter/intra-patient variability, diverse imaging techniques, and the necessity to incorporate data from multiple sensors and sources, thus giving rise to the well-documented domain shift issue. To tackle these challenges, radiologists and pathologists employ Computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) systems, which assist in analysing biomedical images. These systems mitigate or eradicate difficulties arising from inter- and intra-observer variability, ensuring consistent assessments of the same region by the same physician at various times and across different physicians, thanks to adept algorithms. Additionally, significant issues such as delayed or restricted data access, driven by privacy, security, and intellectual property concerns, pose considerable hurdles. Consequently, researchers are increasingly exploring the use of synthetic data, both for model training and for simulating scenarios not observed in real life. Furthermore, the emergence of foundation models, such as Vision Transformers and large multimodal models, represents a paradigm shift in medical image analysis. These models, pre-trained on vast datasets, demonstrate remarkable adaptability across various tasks, including segmentation, classification, and multi-modal integration. Their ability to generalise effectively offers promising avenues for addressing domain shift issues and integrating heterogeneous data sources, enhancing diagnostic and predictive accuracy. This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in biomedical image processing, leveraging machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and radiomics features. Emphasis is placed on practical applications, including potential solutions to address domain shift issues, the utilisation of synthetic images to augment CAD systems, and the integration of foundation models into clinical workflows. Experts are increasingly challenged by large volumes of data, the rarity of diagnostic cell types, and the heterogeneous presentation of disease. Despite the availability of comprehensive patient data, advanced deep learning algorithms, and a solid understanding of hematopoiesis, there is currently no robust model capable of automatically analyzing and predicting disease dynamics from blood smears or bone marrow aspirates. In this talk, I will present recent advances in AI-based hematopathology that aim to address key challenges such as model robustness, generalization to real-world data, bias mitigation, and the integration of multimodal sources. I will highlight three promising directions: (1) efficient single-cell detection using neural cellular automata, (2) interpretable feature learning via sparse autoencoders, and (3) the integration of biomedical prior knowledge into model training through customized loss functions. [CFP] CRISTAIN 2025 Workshop

[CRISTAIN 2025] The “supporting CRIme reSolution Through Artificial Intelligence” workshop explores the use of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and augmented reality, to support professionals in the field of criminal investigation. The initiative aims to introduce new methodologies that can enhance current investigative practices. A key element is a human-centered approach which ensures effective and ethical tools that can be easily used by professionals in the field. Through discussion and dialogue among participants, the workshop can foster the identification of effective solutions to support the management of the investigation process. This includes building trust in automated systems, supporting human oversight and interpretability, and enabling collaborative decision-making between humans and machines. Particular attention will be provided to how human-centered methods can help in the mitigation risks and biases that should be properly handled in AI-based systems. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: ■ AI for Software Testing and Testing of AI: the growing interest in the use of AI has also spread in to various aspects of software testing. Industry papers (12 to 15 pages plus at most 2 extra pages for references in the one-column Springer LNCS format) describing original research or experience report conducted within an industrial environment or in collaboration with an industry partner. Short papers or work-in-progress papers (up to 6 pages plus at most 1 extra page for references in the one-column Springer LNCS format) describing academic work in progress or tool implementations, as well as testing processes, achievements and feedback on testing methods for industrial case studies. Journal-First. The aim of the Journal-First (JF) submission category is to further enrich the program of ICTSS, as well as to provide an overall more flexible path to publication and dissemination of original research that is within the scope of ICTSS. A submission in this category must adhere to the following criteria: ■ It should be clearly within the scope of the conference. ■ It should be recent: it should have been accepted and made publicly available in a journal (online or in print) by January 1, 2023 or more recently. ■ It has not been presented at, and is not under consideration for, Journal- First tracks of other conferences or workshops. ■ The submission has to be in the form of a 4-page extended abstract and has to provide a concise summary of the published journal paper. ■ It must be marked as such in the submission’s, and must explicitly include full bibliographic details (including a DOI) of the journal publication they are based on. Since the referenced journal papers have already been reviewed and accepted by the corresponding journals, submissions in the JF category will not be reviewed again for technical content. Submissions will be judged on the basis of the above criteria, but also considering how well they would complement the conference’s technical program. Accepted submissions in this category will be part of the proceedings of ICTSS 2025, with the title equal to the original title of the article with the prefix.
