https://iui.hosting.acm.org/2026/<http://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/~george/GPLists_2021/lm.php?tk=aGNpdGFseQkJCWhjaXRh…>
The ACM Conference on Intelligent User Interfaces (ACM IUI) is the leading annual venue
for researchers and practitioners to explore advancements at the intersection of Artificial
Intelligence (AI) and Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). IUI submissions should address
HCI challenges using machine intelligence and consider both computational and human-
centric aspects. As AI becomes more integrated into everyday technology, understanding
its role in meeting human needs is vital for developing effective and responsible systems.
This conference fosters collaboration among experts from diverse fields to tackle
significant issues in AI and HCI through discussions, workshops, and networking
sessions.
UI 2026 attracted a record number of submissions for the main conference (561 full

Posters
Posters provide an opportunity for sharing valuable last-minute ideas, eliciting useful
feedback on early-stage work and fostering discussions and collaborations among
colleagues. We invite submissions relevant to all conference topics. All submissions
should convey a scientific result or work in progress that is not yet ready to be published
as a full-length research paper at a refereed conference.
The page limit for poster papers is 4 pages (references do not count toward the page
limit). Submitting a draft poster along with your submission is not required, but is
recommended. Accepted poster papers will appear in the companion proceedings of the
conference. Each accepted contribution is expected to be presented in person during the
poster session.
Demos
The demonstration track complements the overall program of the conference.
Demonstrations show implementations of novel, interesting, and important intelligent
user interface concepts or systems. We invite submissions relevant to intelligent user

A video (up to 5 mins) is required for demo submissions. The video should showcase the
system that will be demonstrated during the conference. Please follow the SIGCHI
Technical Requirements and Guidelines for Videos
(https://sigchi.org/resources/guides-for-authors/videos/<http://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/~george/GPLists_2021/lm.php?tk=aGNpdGFseQkJCWhjaXRh…>).
Please submit your demos and posters electronically to the Precision Conference
Submission (PCS) Portal (https://new.precisionconference.com/user/login<http://www.cs.ucy.ac.cy/~george/GPLists_2021/lm.php?tk=aGNpdGFseQkJCWhjaXRh…>) by the paper
deadlines.
In PCS, first click “Submissions” at the top of the page, from the dropdown menus for
Society, Conference, and Track, please select “SIGCHI”, “IUI 2026”, and “IUI 2026 Posters”
or “IUI 2026 Demos”, respectively, and then press “Go”.
Note: If the corresponding author (the individual who submits the paper, not necessarily
the first author) is affiliated with a participating institution that has an open access
agreement with ACM, the Article Processing Charges (APCs) will be waived for publishing
the paper. Details are under “Publication and Open Access”.
Accessibility
Authors are asked to make their paper submissions accessible (so that reviewers with
vision impairments can access them, for example). The authors of accepted papers will
be required to make their final PDFs accessible. Please use the SIGCHI Guide to an
Accessible Submission for detailed instructions.
If you are submitting a video as supplemental material, please provide captions, as
described in Technical Requirements and Guidelines for Videos.
Please refer to the Accessibility page of the conference site for further details and
guidelines.
Usage of Generative AI
All submissions must comply with the ACM policy on the usage of GenAI: the April 2023
ACM Policy on Authorship and Frequently Asked Questions. Text generated from a
large-scale language model (LLM), such as ChatGPT, must be clearly marked where such
tools are used for purposes beyond editing the author’s own text. Authors should include
a “GenAI Usage Disclosure” section, right before the references, to provide full disclosure
of all use of GenAI tools in all stages of the research (including the code and data) and
the writing. This section, together with the references, will not be counted toward the
word limit.
While we do not anticipate using tools on a large scale to detect LLM-generated text, we
will investigate submissions brought to our attention and desk reject papers where LLM
use is not clearly marked.

*Apologies for cross-posting*
*Call for papers - Special Issue on "Haptics for the Arts" *
*IEEE Transactions on Haptics*
*https://www.ieee-ras.org/publications/toh/special-issues
<https://www.ieee-ras.org/publications/toh/special-issues>*
In the last two decades, we have witnessed the development of many
innovative devices and original techniques for providing haptic sensations
in artistic settings. This includes the tactile enrichment of music
listening and performance experiences, haptic soundscapes, interactive
installations leveraging tactile interfaces, immersive multimedia
experiences exploring the nuances of touch, or the haptic enhancement of
digital musical instruments. There is a growing interest in the haptics
community in investigating interfaces and perceptual phenomena at the
confluence of art and haptics, as demonstrated by the Art & Design Track at
the 2024 Eurohaptics conference.
New system perspectives are needed to develop the next generation of haptic
interfaces for artistic contexts, which pose significant challenges at the
technical and perceptual levels. Overcoming these challenges requires a
transdisciplinary approach, involving engineering, human-computer
interaction, performance studies, and the arts in general. Generating a
dialogue between these research fields will be beneficial for obtaining
innovative results in constructing future haptic interfaces for artistic
usages.
The intent of this special issue is to define a promising road-map for the
development of future haptic interfaces for artistic contexts, pushing the
boundaries of haptic exploration and offering unique perspectives that
blend technological innovation with sensory engagement. We invite
technically rigorous submissions that challenge, provoke, and expand these
frontiers. Submissions that neglect to rigorously explore the links between
the arts and at least one of the fields of engineering, computer science,
or human-computer interaction will not be considered.
Topics of interest include and are not limited to:
- Haptic modeling, rendering, algorithms, and systems for the arts
- Haptic interaction techniques and methods for the arts
- Haptic hardware for the arts, including XR and multimodal/wearable
displays
- Perceptual, behavioral, and cognitive studies on haptics in arts
- Data-driven approaches for haptic artistic representations
- AI applications for haptics in the arts, including use of explainable
or generative AI
- Perceptual, behavioral, and cognitive studies that demonstrate user
impact of haptics in the arts
- Empirical studies that demonstrate the roles and effects of haptics in
interaction with artwork
- Installation art with haptic technologies, including haptic soundscapes

LONG AND SHORT RESEARCH PAPERS
We invite submissions of high-quality original research papers that explore Advanced Visual Interfaces and Human-Computer Interaction in general.
We are particularly interested in work addressing creativity from multiple critical perspectives, including agency, interfaces, and ethics, in relation to the themes and topics of AVI 2026.
Both long and short submissions must describe original, unpublished research. All papers will undergo rigorous peer review by a distinguished international panel of experts.

Long and short papers must be anonymized, removing information (such as authorship, acknowledgments, name of an application, software, or project) that can suggest the authors' identity. Citation to authors' previous work should not be anonymous and should be in third person in the text, e.g., "As described by [10]" and not "As described in our previous work [10]".
All the papers mentioned above require online submission.
Specific information concerning the submission (e.g., submission format, proceeding specifications) will be made available on the AVI website in due time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
DESCRIPTION
Since its first edition in 1992, AVI has become an influential space for encounters among scholars and practitioners interested in interfaces, interactions, and experiences. Rooted in pioneering research on visual interfaces characterized by a distinctive attention to the human factor, the conference has evolved across the different waves of Human-Computer Interaction. It has addressed the pragmatic and hedonic needs of heterogeneous groups of users up to the current challenge of self-actualization. Creativity is a core behavior that leads to the realization of a person’s full potential, and the explosion of generative AI presents both opportunities and challenges to human creativity. They address fundamental issues related to agencies, interfaces, and ethics.
AVI 2026 will take place in San Servolo, a small island in Venice. This delicate and fragile ecosystem provides the ideal venue for reflecting, reframing, and speculating about creative solutions to more sustainable, inclusive and rewarding technological futures. AVI is an International Conference considering the nationality of participants, authors, and organizing committees. However, it has always taken place in Italy, thus complementing a strong and diverse research program with carefully selected cultural and social activities alongside a distinct sense of hospitality and conviviality.
The conference is held under the patronage of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano and Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, Italy.
We look forward to your participation in AVI 2026!

Oggetto: TOCHI's Distinguished Reviewer Board: Please help spread the word
Dear all
I am sorry for spamming you but we have just launched the call for a Distinguished Reviewer Board for TOCHI, hopefully it will help solve some of the problems we experience in recruiting reviewers in a way that is integrated with manuscript central.
The call is out and the direct link to the application form is https://forms.gle/zUURm49M6XZxoEEL8. There is social media posts about this at https://www.linkedin.com/posts/khornbaek_applications-for-acm-tochi-disting… (LinkedIn), https://x.com/khornbaek/status/1981737839235666392 (X), and https://bsky.app/profile/khornbaek.bsky.social/post/3m3x5mvs5oc2y (bluesky). Please help share them and boost them, or post your own version.
Sending the general call below to people at the postdoc and assistant professor level who do not regularly review for TOCHI is also helpful (you may also write a more motivating text and just share the link).
The goal of TOCHI´s distinguished reviewer program is to make it easier for associate editors (AEs) to find qualified reviewers and to encourage new people to review for TOCHI. In essence, the program allows reviewers to commit to reviewing for a two-year period (5 papers per year); they will get some training in reviewing as well as their name listed on a web site. Detail about the program and a form to apply can be found at https://forms.gle/rRoV5CYxtmjPwiNs9
You will get one reminder about this in a couple of weeks when the outreach editors resend this from TOCHI’s official channels.
Thanks so much, Kasper
